TCF #3

It's been 2 weeks into this project now, and I am encountering some problems on the way now. One of the problems that is messing with me, is that the wires that makes the car work snapped off. I realized it was snapped the moment I came into to class today. This make it more hard for me because since the wire is quite narrow in the end it is going to be a pain putting it back together to make the car work again.
Since the car is partially broken already I can learn from this in the future because I don't think I was careful enough of my prototype and maybe that's why it broke off, and I'll be more careful so I won't be in a situation like this again. This incident happen too when I was in a summer program in Indonesia, 2 of the wires that made the machine work, snapped off and I had to bring them back together. Right now I extended the base of the light, so it has even more space to move, and this weekend I will try and get the cables and lightings for the prototype and start playing around with them until it works out for me.

  1. A thing that I liked was that you were focused in your project and not on others projects. You use your passion to help others and not just your self. I like how you can incorporate how the light can move with an remote control card. It is too bad that the wire broke because this is a unique and cool idea. I like how you have the car on a path and made a diagram of it would work.

  2. Hi Flavio! Its Alida from the Genius Hour class in Maryland,USA. First off, I love your project idea! I often do my homework in my living room where at night the room is very dim. There is light in there but it never points where I need it too. I could really use the moving light! The car and the remote controller is so clever and fun! What gave you the idea to use that? For my project I am designing a compost bin (http://designcompostbin.weebly.com). I had to draw my design by hand however, yours appears to be drawn with a computer. What program did you use? Also, our projects are very similar and I'm wondering if you have any tips on working through the engineering design process.I can't wait to see how your final design turns out! Good Luck!

    1. Hey Alida, I'm happy that you're interested on my 20 time project that I'm doing. When this all started, Mr. Mongardi told us to jot some random ideas so we could have a basic start to the project we are doing right now. I jotted down 'A moving light' for one of my ideas, and I was like 'I think I am going to do this'. Since my little brother has a bunch of toy cars just sitting around, I thought that a remote control car would work perfectly for this. For the drawing I did, it's actually on an IPad, and I used an app called notability. One tip that works for me, and maybe you too, is that I try to finish the first prototype as soon as possible and test it out to see on what needs work and what doesn't. Hope this helps you in anyway.

  3. Hello it is Tyler H and This project seems really cool and I am excited to see where you are going with this because you are going to do with this because you are havening problems with the light bulb and it seems like you know what you are doing but you never know what you are going to encounter therefore this is a really cool idea but like what you said this could fail but the key word there is that it could fail do it could succeed so I am very excited to see what happens and have a wonderful day
